Resetting Simphony Passwords

When a user is setup for the first time in Simphony, we should stress that they be sure to setup their password reset security questions from the Simphony Web App (more info below).  If the Security questions are set and the users knows the answers, they can reset their Simphony password themselves using the Simphony App One Time Password Request web page:

***There’s one weird catch however, we need to tell users TO NOT put any spaces in their answers when they set them b/c I’ve found that it does not allow you to enter spaces when answering the security questions while resetting the password (this could be a bug b/c it allows you to type spaces when setting them):

  • Once the correct answers are provided, the user will be sent a one time password they can use to reset their password.

  • If the user did not set or does not remember their security questions, we’ll probably have to manually reset their password for them in the EMC to something generic, and then then tell them to change the password at next login, from either EMC or by using the Simphony App web page

  • To reset from the Simphony web app, the user will need to browse to the URL below,  logon and select  “User Profile”

  • To reset Form EMC, they have to go to Configurationà Employee Maintenance, find themselves, and click the “password” button:

  • If an Admin resets another users’ password in EMC, it essentially sets a one time password for the user, and the user will prompted to change the password at next logon.

  • If you click the “Reset Security Questions” button, it will blank out their security questions that are set via the web app.  There doesn’t seem to be a way to set security questions directly from EMC (at least that I can tell).
