If you don't already have one, please set up an Apple ID. This ID is used to finish setting up your phone and is normally set up using your UC Davis email address and a secure password of your choosing. Your Apple ID is not created or managed by UC Davis, so please make sure to remember the user ID and the password you create for this account. If you forget the password, neither campus IT nor SHDS CSG are able to reset it or recover it, but you can recover it from the Apple ID website.
If you already have an Apple ID, please make sure you can sign into it at iCloud.com. If you cannot, you'll need to reset the password for the account.
Once you log into iCloud.com, go to the Contacts section and make sure the contacts there match the ones one your current phone.
If they are synced properly, then the contacts will easily sync to your new phone once you enter your Apple ID on it.
