OnGuard: How to Fix Wi-Q portals are not coming online after being added to a new COM server

Complaint:
Portals are set up in the System Administration.
Portals are configured.
Portals are not coming online.

Hint: Open the communication server logs and there is a device translation error when the portals are polled.

The Red X in Alarm Monitor shows that the portal is not communicating.

Issue: The BESTWiQInterfaceu.dll file failed to register at install.

Solution: Manually Register the WiQInterfaceu.dll.

  1. Stop the Lenel Communication server.

  2. Run the CMD prompt as administrator and change the directory to C:\Windows\SysWOW64

  3. Enter the following line of text (...Exactly as you see it, including the double quotes):

regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\OnGuard\BESTWiQInterfaceu.dll"

  1. Hit the enter key and wait for the registration success message.

  2. Start the communication server as an application and verify the portals come online as well as the device translation error is no longer there.
