Background

A. Problem to be Solved

SmartSite is moving out of the pilot phase and is scheduled for campus wide release in the fall of 2007 and will replace MyUCDavis' course management functions in 2008. Because SmartSite will be UC Davis' new course management system, it will need a comphrehensive set of metrics and communications to track and publicize the transition to and adoption of this program over the next year and a half to two years.

B. Proposed Approach

  • Create a comprehensive set of metrics to collect data about the project.
  • Develop and implement a marketing/publicity campaign that is geared toward producing quantitative results.

C. Services Provided

By promoting SmartSite, IET is raising awareness about new educational technology that will assist the campus in fullfill its mission of research, teaching and outreach.
