Tools and Feature Requests

The following tools and/or features have been requested:

  • An MP3 streaming tool that can queue to any part and duration of a song. For example, stream between the 8th and 14th seconds of a symphony.
    • Rumor has it that an ET Partner may be working on a similar such program for Professor Holoman.
  • Incorporate Mediaworks services. For example, use the unlimited streaming video service we have to offer live video to our students on the Sakai sites.
  • Incorporate with Macromedia Breeze
  • Add photos to quizes
  • Anonymous quizzes
  • The Quiz Builder should not only be able to import and export files, but also keep the various quizes in organized folders for easy re-use. Perhaps they can also be shared amongst isntructors in this way.
  • QB parsing/analysis tool
    • Update: It will be available for testing next week. Plan is to prepare some screen shots and have a focus group with faculty to determine how to use it. This has yet to be organized.
  • The "ADD" button should be much more prominent in the Resources tool.
    Uploading resources is what faculty will be doing the most with this tool.
  • It's a bother to have to adjust the Copyright Pulldown Menu every time one uploads a syllabus or handout. "I hold copyright" should be the default.
  • She'd like to see a Tech Tip that not only explains how a tool works but when one would want to use one tool over another. We talked about how that is a function that a pedagogy specialist, such as Bev or myself, could play, but to my mind what she's asking for splits the difference between function and application. After SITT, Chris's team may want to address this issue.
