Sakai 2.4 Preview

The current expected release for Sakai v2.4 in the collab community is Friday, May 21, 2007.
UC Davis plans to release SmartSite v2.4 over the weekend between spring quarter and summer session 1, June 22-25, 2007.

The Smartsite 2.4 Upgrade Quality Assurance Report is available here as of 7/18/07.

Overall Test Goals

The goals for testing the SmartSite v2.4 upgrade are:

  • to ensure that current UCDavis modifications to the "plain vanilla" Sakai version 2.4 are merged properly and produce the desired results/functionality,
  • to ensure that course management features are successfully integrated with Banner to deliver desired section and cross-section management features to faculty,
  • to ensure that system integration and networking upgrades function as specified,
  • to ensure that new features and functionality introduced in version 2.4 are functional and produce the desired results,
  • to identify new issues or changes to functionality that may influence UCD's decision to upgrade and/or require notification of faculty and other users.
