Summary of work to be considered for the next sprint:
We need to return our attention to how we want AFS configured for the Fall 2007. All now SmartSite does not distinguish between volumes for Project Sites and Course Sites. Also, according to John Harris (Data Center) we may not have enough volumes to support the expected content storage for the campus roll out in the Fall. SAK-24 and various links.
The Gradebook needs to be refactored again to interface with Online Grade Submission. For this effort we first need to meet with the Registrar's office to investigate requirements for handling grading modes now that we carry this data.SAK-696.
We need to investigate how we might integrate an academic calendar into the SmartSite calendar (Schedule). This work would benefit the Registrar's office. Vet Med has completed an integration with SmartSite's calendar -- integrating an individual's Outlook calendar into SmartSite's calendar. There may be some overlap in requirements and solutions with these two efforts. This needs to be investigated.SAK-824.
We should continue work on SCORM.SAK-825
The Training and Support Tool is not including all the tools it should since the 2.4.x roll out. We need to have this fixed for our trainers. SAK-832.
In the interest of collecting and tracking information about sites that are created by our end users, there are a variety of solutions. One solution may be to run a weekly query against the database, extract the user-based data and send it in csv format to Corey and others. We need to design the content of the query, particularly with regards to cumulative data and the like. SAK-667.
There are one or two more "lazy loading" problems. There may be a global fix that we can investigate. SAK-781.
There continues to be an error that can be reproduced in Chat2 on the Mac using FireFox. This needs to be explored to determine if it is being caused by our skin or something we're doing. If not, we should report this to the Foundation and perhaps FireFox.SAK-804.
We want a new application in MyUCDavis to track Quiz Builder and WebSite Builder migration activities. We believe the end users who are making the effort to migrate their content from MyUCDavis may need help and support. This coincides with an idea that came up in the Training and Support meeting in which people believe that we should have an application in MyUCDavis that reports when people are creating new content for WebSite Builder or Quiz Builder. These end users are candidates for eventually needing to migrate their content to SmartSite. The trainers could contact them now to encourage them to create new content in SmartSite and tell them how to migrate existing content from MyUCDavis.
We want to configure SmartSite so that it shows 4 tabs across someone's workspace that represents their latest involvements -- most recent classes, most recent projects and events, etc. There are examples from other campuses how this is done.SAK-441.
CRNs should be revealed in SmartSite in the site request notification. It might also be useful for end users (faculty) to have a tool that reveals the CRNs. Also perhaps department number for the course subject area could also be revealed during course site creation and in the request for approval notification. SAK-822.
We need to make progress with feeding Extension students into SmartSite as Open Campus students.SAK-518.
We need to continue evaluating roles in SmartSite including our current Wait List role. New roles needed for the fall include an Open Campus role for Extension students and DeptAdmin for department proxies.SAK-37 and various links.
We need additional work and QA testing on the UCD Stats tool and the Contact Us application.SAK-837.
Per Jira sak-636 our distauth integration does not work consistently, particularly on a Mac. There are times when trying to log in hangs and produces a blank screen and the end user is stuck. We need to understand what is going wrong and see if there is a possible fix. SAK-636.
Tool ordering for site creation is not quite correct. Gradebook and Forum are out of order. SAK-817.
We need to continue making progress in understanding and fixing the Section Info tools so that enrollment data are correct and the student membership data are complete. No new Jira story yet.
We need a true outage page. Perhaps this is another task for Babette's group.SAK-821.
We need to investigate how to edit text on the Help Tool. We want this done in a fashion that will not require us to re-modify our edits each time we have a Sakai upgrade. SAK-630.
