Sprint IterationPlanningSept052007

Iteration planning meeting.  DRAFT NOTES until Kirk Reviews.

RAC - very important.  Estimate this for Sept Iteration. Regression and fail over testing.  Sandra to send Mothra RAC test to developers.  Prabhu ready for us to start testing end of today.  What Is our fallback if RAC is a problem?  Can we restore from RAC  back to Caje if we need to? What if it takes us two weeks to regression and fail over test the RAC and all goes well.  Do we move forward at that time?  By then we'll be days from the start of the Fall term for 2007.  We don't know the answer just yet.

Archiving an issue? Kirk will follow up with a story.  Probably a spike for someone.  Apparently archived sites don't save content for Message Center.  This is sak-527.

MGA consultants - aggressive timeframe.  Point the external database to Banner test.  Thomas will update Prabhu to take a copy of sakai-test to sakai dev for them to use.  Sandra to check on a story for this.  Create one if there isn't one.

Load testing - very important,  need more time with this.  Mike will hand off to Thomas for next week.  Michael needs formal training on silk performer.  Ask Liz.  Create a story for this if there isn't one.  Need an estimate for Sept Iteration.

SCORM - important.  Demo from James during Sept iteration.  Need more estimates.

2.4.x-HEAD - very important - site info doesn't work for us in HEAD.  Created a Jira for this (Thomas).  Currently on Smartsite-test.  James will help Lisa understand what the Jiras are.  Kirk will help Lisa set priorities for what to test.  Need a story for this and estimate for Sept Iteration.  We're also not sure if GradeBook works as it does in Prod all now.  This needs to be carefully examined.  Most of this work is QA but if any issues turn up, we may have to fix if we want to move forward with this.  We need an estimate for this for the Sept Iteration.

appl servers 5 & 6 - very important.  Include this in Sept Iteration.

extension services - important.  Will take longer.  Take Alex's fix for MyUCDavis and make changes to it.  Done by next Friday.  What is the task now?  Still a feed from Unex, not real time query to their views?  The testing is the long as well.  Already a story for this.  Needs to be included again for Sept Iteration.  Need new estimate.

default tools - no longer include Messages, Modules, Test and Quizzes. Don't stealth though. Default mailtool.  Make a story and estimate for this for Sept Iteration.

Changes to myucdavis to link to smartsite - Not ready for the fall 2007.  How to do this not really known.  We probably need a spike for this to determine the best approach.  We don't want to waste too much effort on this since it will be useful for only a time while MyUCDavis CMS is still functional.

Things left over from last iteration.  E.g. Calendar effort work.  But also sak-821, 975, 890, 893, 936, 888, 958, 894, 938, 897, and 177.

Investigate su tool changes for deptadmin role  --  What are the permissions for this role?  See Sak-131?

Trouble ticket for account tool displaying Kerberos id instead of email id.  Get rid of account tool?  May be easier.  In workspace.  Not high priority.  Lots of other trouble tickets though.  Are the unassigned ones still meant for the Sakai developers? Yes. People still working these?  Yes.  We've been real busy with upgrades.

Roster tool fixes  -- 3 errors still.  Still showing email ids for everyone.  Still a FERPA issue?  Can student remove self through profile tools.  Do the providers bring them over?  Yes, with first name, last name CONFIDENTIAL.  Change permissions in the roster template going forward.  Foundation fix for multiple sections problems -- Still broken on HEAD.

Modules script not solved yet.  Still doing cron job every 5 minutes.  May not have time for the September Iteration.

Mailtool - some problems with large roster.  Performance issue.  Is this getting fixed by the Foundation?  Works with mail archive tool as an option.  Is this fixed in HEAD?  James will pursue this.  Need a story for this and an estimate for the Sept Iteration. There's much to do here.
