How do I get access to SPA?
- When a progress assessment is initiated either by the program coordinator (or Major Professor* or Graduate Advisor) an email will go out to you.
*1st or 2nd year students or Masters students not doing research may not need a MP. - The email will contain a link to the assessment questionnaire.
- The assessment link will remain available to the student through out their academic career. The student will also be able to go to https://spa.gradhub.ucdavis.edu to view current and past assessments.
What does the email look like?
How do I save my answers?
Each answer is saved as is it completed.
How do I add a message for my Major Professor or PI?
- Navigate to your assessment; via the email link or SPA website.
- You, your Program Coordinators, your Major Professor* (MP), your Graduate Advisor (GA) and your Graduate Studies Senior Academic Advisor can view your assessment and add comments.
- On the right hand side enter your Message... and click Send.
- You can uncheck the Notify checkbox to just save the message and not have it emailed to the MP and GA.
When can I make changes to the assessment?
You can make changes to the assessment up until the major professor and/or graduate advisor confirms the assessment. Once the major professor or graduate advisor confirm the assessment, you cannot edit any content of the assessment.
