How to lookup a resident

  1. Connect to Door Access Client ()

  2. There will be a menu on the left side of the screen – look for the section named General.

  3. Click Resident Access under General

Now to enter the student ID number

If they have their Aggie card…

Click on the "Enter SID..." field and then swipe their Aggie card through the USB reader. This is the fastest and most reliable method.

You can also insert their Aggie Card into the Onity encoder and click "Read Card" however this method is slow and not recommended.

If they do not have their Aggie card…

Verbally ask for their student ID number and type it into the "Enter SID..." field.

During Moove-in you must verify their identity by asking for a photo id such as driver’s license or passport. This should match what’s under their StarRez information card.

Security is especially important during moove-in week so remain diligent and contact your lead / supervisor if you have any doubts about the situation at hand.


Troubleshooting Tips

Entry not found

Not able to find an in room (INRM) or reserved (RESV) booking in StarRez → validate their booking exists and the check-in date is for today

Kerberos not found

Likely but not always due to their computing accounts not being fully setup → ask resident to reset their kerberos password and make sure to check the propagate change to all systems box at https://computingaccounts.ucdavis.edu/
