Renew Web Server certificate

This article show the steps to renew a certificate in our Web Server.

 Instructions

  1. Once you receive the email that the new SSL certificate is ready, use the following link option to download it:

  2. Once you have downloaded the certificate, copy it to in the desktop of the Web Server.

  3. Open IIS and go to “Server Certificates”

  4. Right-click in the certificate that you are going to renew and select “Complete Certificate Request”

  5. In the following window, select “Complete certificate renewal request”

  6. In the next window, browse to find the certificate that you stored previously in the desktop, type a new “Friendly Name” (different of the old one), select “Personal” as the certificate store and click “Finish”

  7. Open the Certificate Manager for the Local Server (certlm.msc) and go to Personal certificates folder. Cut the renewed certificate and paste it in the Web Hosting certificates folder.

     

  8. Go back to IIS, go to “Sites” and right-click the correct website and select “Bindings”

     

  9. Edit the correct binding with the SSL certificate. Select the new renewed certificate and click “OK”

  10. Go to the website and verify is using the new certificate.

  11. Once everything is working, go back to the Certificate Manager and delete the old certificate located in the Web Hosting certificate folder.
