Load Test Measurement Criteria
Scope
The goal of this page is to begin to compile some criteria we can use to determine whether a load test "succeeds" or "fails". As per our discussion of Jan 31, 2008 (Thomas, Jon, Mike, James), we intend to break this down into three groupings (Database, App Server, User Experience), and for a given load test, we will produce a number for each that can be compared against a number that has been established by analyzing Production.
In order to accomplish this, we're going to review Production AQR reports, Application Server stats, and run a Silk Performer virtual user against the Production cluster (to gather user experience measurements).
Database Measurements
- System load (number of runnable/active processes) from SAR
Application Server Measurements
- ? To be determined.
User Experience Measurements
- Page load (as output by Silk Performer)
