  • Prospecting and Mining

the best way for us to market animation is to create projects out of existing and potential jobs. that means collaborating on programming, graphic and video projects for instances when animation could better tell a story, better demonstrate a process or more efficently produce results.

  • Produce a demo reel
    • The demo reel includes:
      • feature clip especially designed for introducing our services
      • samples of our best work from the sports board and other projects
      • small clips made on spec demonstrating our capabilities

Demo reels are updated and changed frequently as projects are completed and our best works continue to be included. Developing a feature clip is a long-term assignment that can be developed in the background of other productions.

  • Identify events and opportunities to promote services
    • form an informal users group or campus SIG
    • open house
    • identify a list of potential clients from current, previous and prospective clients for promotional materials that include:
      • a web-version of demo reel and promotional email
      • a DVD give-away with contact information
  • Develop work flow methods by studying best practices
  • Develop staff expertise in the major areas of Maya development:
    • Rendering
    • Modeling
    • Texturing
    • Dynamic Effects
    • Animation and character rigging
    • MEL scripting
