Druva: Backup Set failing with error "PHOENIX 187"

 Problem

Issue: Backups for SQL Server Backup Set failing with error "PHOENIX 187"

Troubleshooting Performed:

  • The backups were immediately failing with error "PHOENIX 187" on initiating a manual backup.

  • Checked the logs on the server, however the latest logs updated on the server.

  • Restarting the EnterpriseWorkload service did not help us in resolving the issue.

  • We have uninstalled the druva agent and you are currently downloading the agent.

 Solution

Action plan:

  • Once the latest agent version is installed.

  • Please activate the client

  • navigate to Druva console>>Enterprise workload>>Protect>>MySQL

  • click on >> All SQL resources>> click on the name of the server "CHARON">> right top>> click the three dots>>Re-register.

  • Generate the activation token>> enter the token on the agent and activate the client

  • In case if you encounter issues with activating the client, Please follow the below steps:

  1. Stop Enterpriseworkload service

  2. Uninstall the Enterpriseworkload agent.

  3. Install the older version of client found here:  https://downloads.druva.com/downloads/Phoenix/Windows/Phoenix-6.3.5-425213.msi

  4. Install and use the activation token which is generated earlier.

The backups should start to work.
