Placing Sensors
Route cables with a generous S-shape to allow soil deformations without stretching wires. Make note of how wires are routed so that you can plan any penetration tests.
Try to orient all accelerometers the same direction to make it easier to interpret the data later. Note how accelerometers will be mounted to the outside of the container and to model structures before placing any in the soil.
Pore pressure transducers are oriented 90 degrees to the direction of shaking to minimize their sensitivity to any pressure waves reflected from the ends of the model container.
