QUESTION TYPE COMPARISONS
MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTION GAPS:
- Quiz Builder allows you to set how many correct or incorrect answers to display from a pool of answers, while Tests & Quizzes displays all possible answer to the student.
Suggestion: If you have a large pool of possible answers, you may want to pare down the pool after import. - Cumulative grading for multiple correct answers does not exist in Tests & Quizzes, so students must select all correct answers to score the question as correct.
- If you want to display the answers to a multiple choice question randomly, you must set each question to 'Randomize Answers' in Tests & Quizzes after import.
- Survey questions are a special type of question in Tests & Quizzes. If your multiple choice question was meant to be a survey question, you may wish to experiment with this new question type.
FILL IN THE BLANK QUESTION GAPS:
- Questions which start with or end with a blank may not function properly in Tests & Quizzes.
- If your question was an unordered fill in the blank with more than one blank, you may need to pair down your acceptable answers after import as each answer will be allowed for each blank.
- Tests & Quizzes offers you more granular control of each blank in this type of question
In Tests & Quizzes, you may select 'mutually exclusive' as an option if your question has multiple blanks.
This option ensures that students respond to identical answer options with unique answers.
In Quiz Builder, may "contain" the correct answer. For a quiz imported into Tests & Quizzes, a student's answer must match exactly, so you may want to enter more answer variations or modify the answers to include an asterisk for one or more wildcard characters.
