Tom has stepped in on several occasions when David was not available (as recently as a few weeks ago) so I am afraid it might be premature to remove him... That said, I noticed that David has never had this role and I believe that David has not been hampered in his administrative capacity so it might be that Tom doesn't really need this role as backup sys. admin. either.
I will talk to Tom about removing him from this role in Rice to see if he has needed it recently.
Is Tom Cutter still the system administrator? I believe David has taken this on, so we should check to see if Tom needs an application administrator account.
