- 7-9-08 nw you should split this up, as they are TWO separate tools. 7-14-08 I removed "Messages and" from the title. nw anyway, forums has a number of oddities and foibles, but they are also there in 2.4. ie7 seems to have a problem printing properly in both versions (chapter 272). it also has a problem w/a powerpoint icon (chapter 272)
- if you make a change in forums (re-order, add a topic, etc) it can take a LONG time to show for someone else logged in...say I made a change as IOR in firefox and was also in as a student in ie7. multiple refreshes didn't reflect the change for the student. in fact, sometimes I had to logout/in for the change to be reflected. no big deal if most of the forum activity doesn't take place in real time.
- 7-16-08 nw you need to make sure you HAVE sections and have ASSIGNED TAs to the sections in order for TAs to be able to grade forums/topics...even if you have allowed TAs to grade in forums/topic settings. perhaps IORs know this but it took me a bit to figure out.
I did not check the new GB permissions feature to see if/how this affects forums grading. I'm just regression testing now.
