Faculty Use Weighted Categories
This MyUCDavis Gradebook user sets up weighted categories. To duplicate this setup for testing purposes, use the following data:
- Set up 4 categories in your gradbook with the following weights:
- Study Questions - 30%
- Writing Project - 50%
- Final Exam - 10%
- Participation - 10%
- Set up the following assignments (do not set up as quizzes):
- 5 study question assignments weighted equally (20% each)
- 2 writing project assignments weighted equally (50% each)
- 2 exam assignments weighted at 25% and 75%
- 1 participation assignments weighted at 100%
Now, grade students and validate their scores. These examples are based on real grades. Select any student and stick with that student to verify the category and final grades are weighted as specified. Repeat and change grades to validate another set of grades against MyUCDavis grading. If any grade set is different in Gradebook 2.5, indicate the student grade set and specify the differences.
