Eval

Phil - Deployed Eval to test server last night. 50% of tasks are completed, including:

  • Switching to Ray's table for looking up photos for evaluation display. Encountered issue because CERE authentication does not clear authentication on current server - will pass through when pointing to media server. He will repoint and then the code requires a restart to update. Also, need to verify sizing parameters for photo display based on standard thumbnail; both evaluation and preview screens will use this code for display.
  • Validation rules - validate that the student has completed the intructor eval, for example.
  • Email functionality - generates receipt to student that completed eval is received, is now working. Team request a log event as well for tracking questionable transactions.

Phil requests another round of QA prior to closing out 1.5 version.
Need to consider timing for integrating Eval into 2.4 version sometime after the upgrade (1 month?)

He expects to wrap up in another week and will be available for MERC meeting next week.

VetMed Grading Requirements

Main campus has announced no plans to incorporate SCANTRON grades submitted to TRC for electronic upload into Sakai's Gradebook.
VM will work on local method to interface w/Gradebook tool to upload TRC's returned Excel file.
Chris will define a use case.
Scott will work on tool.

Servers

Beau - Successfully converted database through migration process to 2.4; need to setup a 2.4 machine so that John can work on CSS as well as for Beau's work needs.
Scott voiced concern about not having multiple servers to support 2.1.x and 2.4 concurrently - current setup requires switchover from one to the other in the dev/test environments.

Training

Dave - Ateended review of Apple's media asset database, FinalCut server - will not fit current VetMed needs.
iTunes issues based on UCOP sign-off where media must be public - whereas faculty material is not for public access.
Waiting response from Harvest rep.

Course Management

Scott - progress with CM; Hibernate files reading university data; using import tool to create courses automatically.
Ray to work on issue with empty fields in views.
Needs to follow up on other 2.4 imports, such as calendar data.

CREST

Chris - Erin finishing up Fall schedules. Issues with dev databases, stored procedures, etc. not in sync -
Ray will make a 3rd copy to replace both (Chris creating Jira for Ray.)

Ray - Campus to allow use of development system to test out Scorpio - Outlook to Exchange server. Chris to check on configuration article in XBase on Exchange
