USER EXPERIENCE

Rick - Some faculty and course managers are experiencing anxiety uploading to Resources. There is no indication that upload is occurring, so some users will repetitively hit button extending load time and accidentally uploading a file multiple times.

This is a long-standing issue with slow upload since 2.0 per Beau. The current solution is to provide information to course managers/faculty regarding the need for patience to lessen anxiety, incur fewer uploads (requiring deletion) and generate familiarity with the environment.

Dave - Are stats available for Resources? Beau - We can possibly add stats tool after development cycle, i.e., when stable Evaluation tool in development environment is promoted to production.

Some faculty are requesting videotaping for podcast using ProfCast to edit recorded material.

Captivate status- awaiting media server environment resolution. Current location okay - local downloads are quick. Larger 1-2 hr or more up to 200MB. Wireless downloads on campus can be 24sec to 6min (30 machine test.) Recommending that students grab downloads outside of class time.

SERVER/SYSTEM ISSUES

Fix mail system enhancement on CERE which has generated SMTP mail issues. When SMTP is a host on an internal machine, as with CERE & Java-based ColdFusion servers, send email out does not seem to function. Temporary fix is to use different host, e.g., mailbox.
Beau talking to the DC about this issue. Some CF pages have SMTP hard-coded. Problem has occurred on at least 3 different servers.
From September 15-26 mail was queueing up. Once released, Announcements with high priority going through queue first.
Students reported not getting announcements. A backlog of Announcements was discovered - none went out.

High Priority: Need to diagnose and then resolve this issue.

CERE TOOLS

Tests & Quizzes will not be up on production until 2.1.x patches/updates are completed, per Beau.

Ray - T&Q is identified as a priority for UC Davis/IET per Peter Siegel and MW Liz Gibson will be communicating with Stanford regarding functional and performance issues.
