VetMed Developers Meeting

Ray made note that developers who are thinking of providing code to the Sakai collaborative community should sign the Office of President & Sakai Foundation Intellectual Property agreement.

Evaluations Status - Scott/Phil

Evaluation authoring code is now in QA. Code for taking the evaluation is currently in development. Additional work will be done on the evaluation UI - the student view is mostly done, instructor view is currently in development.
Phil is done with the authoring templates, and will be moving on to test taking.

Evaluation admin tool permissions: in regards to user access to the evaluation authoring environment. Access to capability to create templates and/or evaluations based on user and date information. Template access may be school-level or department-level. Permissions set limitations on template creation and editing based on date for the current stage in the evaluation process as specified by VetMed.
Template initialization and evaluation creation are date-based, i.e., faculty can only access them during a specified date range. Templates and evaluation are not editable after release.

Views: The student view for the current list of evaluations available to the student is based on their classes. Phil is currently working out the final GUI changes for authoring and then will shift to the views.

Pilot and Release Update:
Version 1 will be released for Fall 2006; additional changes for future versions to be determined from feedback during/after initial run.

Final list of pilot eval courses: VMD 406, VMB 475, VMD 433, VMD 415 A-B-C, Nutrition 116A

Coding Issues: Scott noted session dropping issue and Hibernate dtd problems. The problems are intermittent, so difficult to resolve. Scott will be posting to dev list re: this issue with Hibernate 3 and Sakai 2-1-2x.

CREST - Keith

Cleaning up jira issues.

Facility - Chris

Room management for events; Chris is working on allowing conflicts to be stored in the database so that users can review them rather than preventing conflicts. This allows conflict awareness and resolution to be human rather than machine-based.

Sakai Training - Rick/Dave

Migration of content for fall 2006 well in hand. Some issues occurred with storing content as Web Content pop-up or I-frame link as the content space is non-resizeable. Overall, faculty are adapting to new system well.

Servers - Beau

2-1-2x patches are needed soon due to bugs in gradebook, assignments, etc.
Beau will coordinate testing patches ASAP within the timeframe allowed by current work on evaluation.
