Student Internships

Information and Educational Technology (IET) provides enthusiastic and ambitious students the opportunity to participate in a quarter-long internship focused on various disciplines of software engineering.

The Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure Services (EAIS), a division of IET, will provide mentorship and hands-on experience to UC Davis students in the following tracks:

  • Mobile Application Development (Java)
    • Android
  • Web Application Development (HTML, CSS, Javascript, etc.)
  • Service Oriented Architecture and Application Development (Java)
    • Web Services, Message Oriented Middleware, Database Development, Enterprise Service Buses, General API Design and Development

All Tracks will include mentorship on the following:

Software Development Life-cycle and Methodologies  ♦  Requirements gathering and analysis   ♦  Design  ♦  Development  ♦  Testing  ♦  Release and maintenance  ♦  Version Control  ♦  Code Reviews

Students will apply concepts learned in building new or contributing to existing applications. The experience gained during this internship will complement knowledge gained during the student’s academic course work and provide current and relevant industry experience. The projects completed can add to their personal portfolio to showcase their accomplishments and skills to prospective employers.

Candidates selected will enroll in either ECS 099 or 199 internship course and receive 3-4 units of credit. Internships may lead to paid employment opportunities within IET
