Reading Onity Templates with MSR: You can now verify the template on Onity cards encoded via the MSR. This functionality is available through the Onity template check on the Resident + Conference Access pages and complements the existing Onity encoder option.
Reading Device | Can Read Templates Encoded By |
---|---|
MSR | MSR only |
Onity Encoder | MSR + Onity Encoder |
Key Points:
✅ MSR → MSR: MSR can read templates it encoded
❌ MSR → Onity Encoder: MSR cannot read templates encoded by Onity Encoder
✅ Onity Encoder → MSR: Onity Encoder can read templates encoded by MSR
✅ Onity Encoder → Onity Encoder: Onity Encoder can read templates it encoded
StarRez Meal Plan Information: Added meal plan information from StarRez, showing term sessions, plan periods, status, meal plan codes, and issue codes with tabbed navigation for multiple terms.
Card Number Validation: Enhanced validation process to prevent encoding of restricted cards. The system now enforces stricter rules for which card numbers can be encoded as Aggie, CHO, Lockout, or Temporary cards, helping ensure that cards meant for other groups (like staff cards) cannot be accidentally encoded.
Lost Card Audit Trail: The lost card process will now automatically create historical log entries when Aggie cards are marked as lost. This includes the issue code changes and who requested the change.
Example: Card Marked as Lost (Issue Code 00 -> 01)
Onity History Table: Fixed sorting to always display in chronological order.
Onity Track 3 Verification: Fixed some spellcheck issues.
CHO Access Levels: Fixed an issue where access levels for CHO entries were not displaying in certain cases.
Lenel Event Log:
Added a ⚡️ High-Priority Event Indicator to flag events (like Tamper, Invalid Badge) that are reported immediately.
Access Card Verification Tool:
Improved messaging to emphasize that Track 1 and Track 2 data may not always be read due to reader limitations, even if present on the card. The tool's primary purpose remains verifying the Onity template on Track 3.
Added visual confirmation (✅ checkmark icon) next to Track 1, Track 2, and Onity Template fields when data is successfully read.
MSR Encoder Instructions: Added a note indicating that Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge is required for MSR functionality.
ASD Cheatsheet: Updated the USB troubleshooting reader example output to clearly label the Track 1 and Track 2 data segments.
Onity Client Status:
The status check now primarily relies on the IP address and no longer uses the computer's hostname, improving reliability. The "PC Name" field has been removed from the status popup.
Added loading indicators (🔄 spinning icon) to show when the proxy and host client statuses are being refreshed.
Resolved an issue where the Banner issue code might not populate correctly during the "Sync with Banner" process.
Fixed a bug where the Onity Client Status check could fail if the computer's hostname couldn't be resolved via DNS.
Ensured the selected Request Date on the Resident Access page persists correctly in the browser's URL.
Improved application startup by adding a check for the existence of the static files directory before attempting to serve them.
Onity Card Encoding with MSR:
You can now use the MSR to issue Temp / Lockout cards and activate Aggie cards for rooms with Onity locks.
Note: This version supports card encoding only. The ability to read Onity cards with the MSR will be added in a future update.
Onity Client Status Indicator:
A new indicator in the top menu shows whether the Onity Client (Integra) is properly configured and connected. It checks for:
Presence of your PC in the list of authorized clients
Proper interface connection configuration
Responsiveness of the Onity Client itself
Green checkmarks indicate everything is working. Red "X" marks indicate a problem that needs attention.
Enhanced Lenel Event Log:
Faster Searches: Significantly improved search performance through optimized queries and ability to select pre-configured date ranges.
Pre-configured Date Ranges: Easily select from common date ranges (Today, Yesterday, Last 3 Days, Last 7 Days, Last 14 Days) for faster searching.
Recent Events Option: If no events are found in the selected date range, an option to load recent events is available - particularly useful for locks that have been offline for a while.
Pre-configured Common Searches: Quick access buttons that automatically configure the parameters for frequently used searches:
Room Door: All events for the resident's assigned room lock.
Suite Door: All events for the resident's assigned suite lock (if applicable).
Card: All events for a specific card (Aggie, Temp, Lockout, or Conference).
Visual Event Cues: Color-coding, emojis, and special indicators highlight important events:
🟢 Access Granted
🔴 Access Denied / Invalid Badge
💤 Communications Lost

Descriptive Alerts: The event log now highlights potential issues and sometimes provides troubleshooting suggestions. Examples:
Low Battery: "Submit service request to replace battery."
Poor Signal: "Lock may take longer to update and/or behave unexpectedly."
Updated Credentials: "Cards not working previously may now be working."
Lock Offline: "Submit service request if it doesn't come back online after a while."
Lock Online: "Indicates the lock has successfully reconnected to the system."
Top Menu Navigation (Resident Access):
StarRez Link: A new "View in StarRez" option opens the resident's StarRez record in a new tab.
Prefilled Helpdesk Email: A "Create helpdesk ticket" option generates a pre-filled email with resident details, room information, and your contact information, making it slightly easier to report issues.
Action Shortcuts: A dropdown menu provides quick redirects to the following wizards and bypasses the initial SID input screen:
Lost Card (Issue Temp Card)
Lockout Card
Room Transfer
Check Out
Navigation: Easily return to the lookup page or refresh resident data with dedicated menu buttons.
Admin Functions in LENNOC:
Onity Template Management: Search, view, reserve, and checkout Onity templates directly within LENNOC, without needing to use the Integra interface.
Onity History Tracking: View a detailed audit trail of Onity operations performed in Door Access Client, including template assignments, check-ins, check-outs, and encoding actions. Includes search filters and pagination.
Onity Card Issuance Testing: Test issuing Onity cards with the MSR and StarRez integration.
Database Connections Dashboard: View the server names for connected databases.
Advanced Lenel Events: An enhanced Lenel Event Log interface with additional search capabilities.
Resident Lookup Page Redesign: The initial lookup page has been redesigned for improved usability:
Select Card Type: Choose the type of card you're working with:
Aggie & Temp Cards: For standard resident access using the SID.
Lockout Cards: Streamlined lockout card returns! Look up lockout cards by searching the Card Log for recent assignments, simplifying the return process.
No Card: For manual entry when a card isn't available.
Choose Input Method: Select how you want to enter the resident's information:
Keyboard or USB Reader: Type in the SID or swipe the card using the black USB reader.
MSR Encoder: Connect to the MSR and swipe to read cards.
Onity Encoder: Insert the card into the Onity encoder and click "Read Card."
Speed Indicators: Each input method is now labeled with an estimated speed (Fastest, Fast, Slow).
Contextual Instructions: Instructions are provided for each input method and card type.
Conference Events Redesign:
Wider Search Bar: The search bar for finding conferences and groups now spans the page width.
Conference Status: Conferences and groups will have color-coded status indicators (e.g., "Confirmed," "Live," "Cancelled"). A reference key is provided to explain the colors and their associated status.
Conference Sorting: You can now sort the list of conferences by Start Date or Name.
Group Selection: Group selection now displays additional information, including status and date ranges.
Link to StarRez: A link to the StarRez Event page for the selected conference.
Simplified URLs: The web addresses (URLs) for pages within the application have been simplified for easier navigation and bookmarking.
Library Updates:
Framework update from .NET 6 to .NET 8
Migration from Javascript to Typescript
Plethora of node packages to support the migration
Sync With Banner Encoding Override: The option to bypass track verification when syncing with Banner has been removed.
Cards must now have the invalid track data verified on them before encoding. This removal was done to ensure card data integrity and maintaining security standards for the campus since Aggie cards are used beyond the scope of Student Housing & Dining Services.
CCure: CCure was deprecated and no longer in use. All residents have been migrated to the Lenel system.
