DNS Conversion Task List

Skin Changes
Lead: (KA)
Timeframe: Before conversion unless otherwise noted as unfeasible?Completed and available for roll to test by Wednesday the 27th.

  • There is a thick black line underneath the top SmartSite image. Shouldn't this be removed?
  • Revise bottom of page:
    • Replace the links at the bottom of the page with: "SmartSite, Support & Training, Information & Educational Technology (IET), and University of California, Davis." Note that "Gateway" is being renamed to "SmartSite"
    • Consult programmers to determine what amount of version-code at the bottom of the screen is necessary and remove that which is not.
    • Remove copyright information from middle i-frame and move it to below where 'Powered by Sakai' used to be.
  • Migrate Gateway content to the test server.
  • Revise fonts for consistency.
  • Revise header fonts, sizes, background colors, etc. for consistency.
  • Change previously bleeding-gold background (currently grey) back to white.
  • Join everyone to the SmartSite project site so they can get to the gateway by clicking the tab.
  • Put a little white space at the top of the SmartSite header image so that it appears more centered.
  • Fix the code for "Preferences" that is throwing in extra line breaks. See code for the unneeded <BR>'s.
  • Ask Simon to try making the Menu bar at the left do rectangular hovers to the darker gold background.
  • E-mail "Office of the Graduate" project site and let them know they can't use the long name as it complicates other users' experience of the system.
  • Add "Sites" tool back and name it "Site Search"
  • Report the IE/Firefox bug which sends the site dropdown menu down a line when the window is shrunk.
  • Create, flesh out, and stylize the SmartSite Tech FAQ. The present version is a confluence cut-and-paste of a few items drafted by MG months ago. Keep a consistent formatting for links. For example, if headers are linked, link all headers. SmartSite workshops are linked; however, TechTips are not. More clearly define the headers. The page has six different font styles (bold/link/big/header/blue/black/etc.) and appears hectic.
  • No labels
