Sakai VetMed Developer's Meeting

Scott - Working on the evaluation tool with Phil. The goal is to generate view, add and edit add evaluation form templates. Moving past Hibernate issues; dropped development in Facelets - not mature enough; now using JSF. Chris is doing the wireframing and use cases.

Beau - Has solution for hostname for cere.ucdavis.edu and vetmed.ucdavis.edu - will hot deploy. Production database to replace my.vetmed is up; some replication data collisions; new db will manage Sakai production data currently on sakai db and my; will need to restart Tomcat to point to new db. Considering MySQL 4 --> 5 migration once satisfactorily tested on Sakai Collab QA servers. MySQL 5 is the GA; ent generally accepted now, however, Linux 4 uses MySQL 4 as its default db version. RedHat update may be on 5; Until the RedHat default is on v5, may choose to use 5 instead of v5 over the Linux default.

Chris - asked Asked to add instructor performance over time to current performance screens; currently flushing out use cases for eval;
. Moving scheduling information from Ilios to sakai CERE is in design discussion phase;.

Keith - added Added directors & admins to Ilios; .

Ray - saw Saw a demo of degree navigator from Reg Degree Navigator at Registrar's office; . Navigator is used for undergrad students - not professional students at this time. Need further discussion with Registrar's office to determine if it can meet DVM student needs. If so, would need to discuss w/Reg. office; define degree paths , possible funding issue, to make it DVM students specific. Possibly need to provide funding; the app is written in ASP.
Called other schools Also, contacted other Davis Schools re: what they use for student degree needs; SIS system tracks courses taken, but not future path needs - inquiring;.

Dave - Captivates Rick has Captivate movies all recorded - in edit; , with some in editing.
For content migration - cleaning up content on sites prior to migration, identifying difficult content which will require CALF assistance (10-20% ); coordinate w/campus estimate of total content). Will need to coordinate with campus storage plans after AFS decision is made; .
